What Jobber does that QuickBooks Online does not

Jobber’s crew calendar is on every plan, with routing from Connect. Clients approve quotes online in client hub, the self-serve page where a client approves quotes, checks appointments and pays invoices. The crew sees the day’s jobs, client details, notes and directions in the Jobber app on iOS and Android, and Jobber sends the invoice by text or email when the job is done.

QuickBooks Online covers the books. Its plans are priced by users, from 1 on Simple Start to 25 on Advanced.

The Jobber and QuickBooks integration

Jobber syncs with QuickBooks Online from the Connect plan and lists Xero in its feature table, so confirm Xero before relying on it. Connect starts at $139 a month for one user, billed monthly with no commitment, and Core has no sync.

Jobber’s help center says the new QuickBooks Online sync is rolling out gradually to select accounts, and that it is now one way.

Who needs Jobber, QuickBooks or both

Is Jobber or QuickBooks better? Each wins its own job.

  • QuickBooks Online alone for a business that needs bookkeeping and invoices but no crew schedule: Simple Start, $38 a month, billed monthly.
  • Jobber alone for a crew of 1 to 15 that needs quotes, a calendar and invoices first. Core is $49 a month for 1 user.
  • Both for a crew that needs the schedule and the books, with Jobber from Connect syncing to QuickBooks Online.

Jobber’s 14-day trial and QuickBooks’ 30-day trial can run side by side, since neither charges at the start. QuickBooks charges automatically when its trial ends, and it also offers QuickBooks Free at $0 a month with no credit card. Jobber’s pricing page lists four paid plans and a 14-day trial; its free-tool pages add a limited free sign-up of up to five quotes, jobs and invoices a month. Free field service management software compares the free routes.
