How to organize lawn care customers: the short answer
To organize lawn care customers, keep every customer, address and property note in one list, set each mowing customer up as a recurring job so the visits fill the calendar, and order the day’s stops by route.
A spreadsheet can do all three, and Jobber publishes a free lawn care schedule spreadsheet for crews that start there. Software takes over when changed visits, weather days and a crew on the road make the sheet hard to keep current.

Try Jobber →One client list with property notes
In Jobber, the client is the base record: requests, quotes, jobs and invoices all hang off it, and the client manager is on all four plans. A client can have several properties, and the work is done at the property. Tags group clients by region or work type, and the client list can be filtered by tag; tags live on the website, not in the app.
Notes can go on clients, requests, quotes, jobs and invoices. Jobber says lawn crews can see property notes and before-and-after photos from the field. To move a spreadsheet in, save it as a CSV file and import it; only admins can import, and Jobber provides a sample file for the column layout. Merging two records for one customer is permanent, so check both first.
Set each customer’s visits to repeat
A recurring job repeats visits on a schedule. Jobber says that once you set one up, it adds the visits to your calendars going forward. You can change one visit or update the whole series. Jobber’s FAQ names lawn care, cleaning and maintenance contracts as the ongoing work recurring jobs are for. Recurring jobs are on all four plans.
Billing is your choice: invoice per visit, or one fixed amount per invoicing period, such as once a month. Jobber’s lawn scheduling guide adds a grouping tip: assign one team member or a small crew to each location group.
Weather days, rescheduling and the crew’s phones
Weather moves the day. Jobber’s lawn care page says you can reschedule visits after weather delays or cancellations, and the calendar is drag and drop. Jobber says it alerts the crew when an assigned job is added, moved or reassigned.
Jobber’s iOS and Android app shows team members their daily jobs, client details, notes and directions. Without a signal the app shows the day’s schedule read-only, and timers need a connection.
Order the day’s stops by route
Group stops by area, then order them. Jobber’s route optimization arranges visits that have no set time into the best possible order, for one team member, a group or the whole team. Only admins optimize routes, on the website, and the app shows the new order. Routing and GPS tracking start on the Connect plan, and live vehicle tracking needs a fleet tracking device in the vehicle.
Accounts created on or after November 12, 2025 use the New Schedule, whose routing menus differ from the Legacy Schedule’s.
Jobber keeps clients and recurring jobs on every plan, and its Connect plan, $139 a month for one user, billed monthly with no commitment and before sales tax, adds route optimization for the day’s visits, as read on October 23, 2026. Adding a few mowing customers to Jobber’s 14-day trial shows how their recurring visits fill the calendar.
GorillaDesk prices by route instead: Basic is $49 a month, paid monthly, for one route, with routing limited to 25 stops. Jobber vs GorillaDesk sets the two side by side. One crew with a few weekly stops can keep the route in a spreadsheet; the best lawn care software list is the next read once it is outgrown. How to quote a lawn care job covers the step before the schedule.
