Jobber vs Housecall Pro: the short answer and the main difference

Both are field service tools for home-service crews, with quotes, scheduling, invoicing and payments in one app. The main difference is how each packages them. Jobber sells four plans with a team-size selector, and the included users rise from one to fifteen. Housecall Pro sells three plans with 1, 5 or 8 users included, and its top plan charges for each user beyond that.

Housecall Pro's comparison page is written from its own side, so this guide reads each tool from its own pricing page and uses the other vendor's page only for what that vendor says about itself. Plans were read on October 23, 2026. Prices are left out because both vendors show promotions and billing toggles.

Key differences that change the choice for a small crew

  • Who counts as a user: Jobber counts anyone who opens the account to view or manage the schedule. Count your office person and crew leads before comparing plans.
  • Where follow-ups sit: Jobber lists automated quote and invoice follow-ups from Connect. Housecall Pro's first plan lists invoices with automated reminders, and its Pipeline tool, shown apart from the plan cards, describes automated follow-ups on leads, so check which plan holds the follow-ups you need.
  • Where the larger tools sit: Housecall Pro lists recurring service plans, a sales proposal tool and open API access on Max. Jobber lists crew scheduling, custom reports and an AI receptionist on Plus.
  • Phone and chat support: Housecall Pro lists live phone and chat support on every plan, and Jobber's page lists live chat, phone and email support on all four of its plans.
  • Call handling: Housecall Pro's comparison page describes 24/7 call handling and an integrated phone system. Jobber lists an AI receptionist as a Plus feature and a paid add-on on lower plans.

Cost: what each vendor shows and how to compare totals

Neither page gives your total. Jobber changes the amount with team size, billing choice and a dated promotion. Housecall Pro shows annual and monthly toggles, individual and team users, and a special offer for new sign-ups.

Compare like with like. Count the people who need to open the schedule, choose the plan whose included users cover them, then add per-user charges, card processing fees and any add-on you need. Only then divide by the jobs you handle in a month. The Jobber pricing guide has the break-even check.

Trial and billing: how each lets you test

Both pages offer 14 days free. Jobber's pricing FAQ says the trial carries full access to Grow features with no credit card required, while its terms say a card is required for paying accounts. Housecall Pro's pricing page says to try 14 days free, no credit card required, cancel anytime.

Whichever you start, test it on real work. Send your last five quotes through the quote tool, put two jobs on one crew at the same hour to see whether the calendar warns you, and send one invoice to yourself to read how the reminder looks.

Which crew should choose Jobber and which should choose Housecall Pro

  • Choose Jobber if you want automated quote follow-ups inside the plan and included users set by team size, and Connect or Grow covers your team.
  • Choose Housecall Pro if you want a fixed user count on each plan, job costing on the first plan, or its integrated phone system and recurring service plans, as its pages list them.
  • Choose neither yet until you have counted your users and jobs. Do that first with the Jobber pricing guide.
  • Want more than two names? The field service shortlist adds Workiz, FieldPulse and ServiceTitan.
