Is Jobber legit: the company behind it

Jobber is a real company, and its site, getjobber.com, publishes terms of service (last updated September 22, 2026) that name Octopusapp Inc. d/b/a Jobber as the operator. Jobber’s About page dates the company to 2011, and its FAQ says it has offices in the US and Canada.

What Jobber charges and how billing works

Core, Jobber’s cheapest plan, is $49 a month billed monthly with no commitment, $39 a month on a 1-year commitment and $29 a month billed annually, as read on October 23, 2026. All prices are in US dollars, and Jobber’s page says plan prices exclude sales tax where applicable.

Monthly billing with no commitment has no contract; the 1-year commitment option is a 12-month minimum billed monthly. All subscriptions renew automatically at Jobber’s then-current price, and the terms say an annual plan must be canceled at least 30 days before renewal.

Refunds, cancellation and your data

The terms say fees are billed in advance and are non-refundable, with no refunds or credits for partial months of service. An annual plan’s first payment is non-refundable too. Refund requests for a subscription bought in the mobile app go to the app store.

Only an admin can cancel. You keep access to the end of the paid period (the full term on an annual or 1-year plan). An expired trial keeps your data; a canceled paid plan loses access to it when the paid period ends, so export your clients first.

You can upgrade in your account; a downgrade, or a switch from annual to monthly billing, goes through Support.

Is Jobber a scam? The terms to read before you pay

You can start Jobber’s 14-day trial without a card; a paid account needs a card, and its terms bill it from the first day after the trial unless you cancel.

Charges you dispute must be raised within 60 days of the charge. The terms also say they contain an arbitration agreement. This is not legal advice, so read section 23 of the terms yourself.

Jobber free trial covers what the trial includes.

Payments, payouts and who holds your money

Jobber Payments, the built-in card and bank payment service, runs on Stripe, and Jobber may withhold funds from payouts. Jobber lists 2.9% + 30¢ for card payments, 2.7% + 30¢ for Tap to Pay, 1% for bank payments (ACH, US only) and an extra 1% for instant payouts. The pricing page gives the standard card rate, and the rate shown in your own account is the one that applies.

Chargebacks are the business’s responsibility, including card-company fees. Card payouts run on a 2 business day schedule, after a 5-business-day authorization period for the first payout.

GorillaDesk says its plans are month-to-month with no contracts (Basic is $49 a month for 1 route, paid monthly), and ServiceM8 says it has no lock-ins (Free is $0 for 1 user, Starter $29 a month). See Jobber alternatives and the Jobber review.
